I think you are confusing traitorous speech, which is protected by law, with pacifism. A pacifist would say there is an alternative to bombs. That is not traitorous speech. Traitorous speech would be like, saying that any actions against the terrorists are unwarranted.
Back to NATO and Bosnia, I really do not know what that was all about. Was it a NATO fundraiser? Was it an act of justice?
I don't know.
I think your point is correct, that if I favor putting Clinton on trial just for the sake to see him humiliated, and even if that little jolly costs America our sovereignity, then that is traitorous. Putting my personal desires above those of the country.
What I think is, that international tribunals are illegal. How can I possibly justify to myself their legitimacy to put on trial some state leaders, but not others? I can't. And I would not want Clinton to be put on trial. But, if I want to put Milosivec on trial, I must be willing to surrender my right not to put Clinton on trial. Clinton surrendered that right. Just another reason I dislike his policies so much.
I am sure he is a swell bar jumping buddy to have, though. |
