Dan, AMD won't be able to sell that many Hammers in '03 for many reasons. First, OEM demand won't be there right away especially in the US where most of them have switched to P4 infrastructure. Second, I have doubts as to whether AMD will meet their infrastructure schedule. I will be relieved when I hear of planned motherboards and/or reference board demos/reviews. Third, I think Intel will make the Yamhill P4 run on the existing 478 socket infrastructure. If they don't then AMD has a major chance. As of Yamhill and Hammer killing Itanium, I don't think so. Don't forget that Intel controls the OEMs through allocations so if Intel says Yamhill is not supposed to go into enterprise servers then that's the end of 1st tier OEM support for Yamhill Enterprise servers.
