Ray - Alas, I am not qualified to respond to your post. I am barely graduated from wannabee, barely into gonnabee, and not yet making nearly enough to live off of trading alone. I could not care less about what "really" goes on in the markets. The free market economy has survived far worse thieves, charlatans, incompetents, and frauds than you are complaining about. From my perspective, somewhere between a tick chart and a one minute chart, the market is randomly chaotic. If it is manipulated at that level, I am only too happy to go along for the ride. I only care about what price and volume will do for the next ten minutes. Fundamentals, news, scandals, and anything other than the last 300 minutes of data hold absolutely no interest to me. Reading the books from the early 1930's, I am encouraged that the market can go completely to hell, and a skilled trader can still make a living. - Mike
