Having a Chinese wife, I think it was foolish not to end communism then. Sure, we eventually won. But at what cost? Better to have taken the fruits of victory when they were still available. Now, only got weeds.

Alger Hiss, for one, and he was influential.

The thrust of the Kinsley article, to me, was that it was normal to be supportive of Bush, not disruptive. After things stabilized and it became clear that our leadership was capable of handling things, then it became ok to dissent.

My statements have been that this is a time to heal, and that we can look back and understand our opposing points of view. But, those that were dissenting in the immediate aftermath, are folks that should not be part of any dialog.
