Yes, we cannot do anything aggressive, because then our enemies will get even more aggressive. Although, it is hard to see how, as they are already plotting 24 hours a day to get nuclear bombs that they can set off in our most populous cities. Al Qaeda might not respect the Geneva Convention with regard to our soldiers? Heck, they don't even take civilians alive. Torture? What if torture could unveil a plot to set off a nuclear suitcase bomb at Disneyland? We didn't treat Japanese POW's this way, we didn't treat Charles Manson this way. But none of them had information that endangered (or could save) the lives of millions.

Three Jews are about to go before Nazi firing squad in WW Two. The Nazi Captain in charge of the squad asks each to express a last wish. One says he would like a cigarette.
