It may not get stopped this time. IMO these guys have created a national crisis, everyone is in the stock market now. I hate to sound alarmist but lying about prospects of a business to potential investors is a fraud if I'm not mistaken. If I tried some of this crap on a local scale I would be in the pokey. Depending on who I dealt with jail would be a nice fate to the alternatives.
