Suicide Bomber Kills 2 Teens
The suicide bomber chose his target carefully -- a popular hangout for teenagers between a pizzeria and a fast-food shop. When he detonated his nail studded bomb, he shredded a 14-year old girl and a 15-year old boy. Another twenty-nine people, mostly children, were wounded by the blast, but survived. Six survivors were mangled by the blast, the rest suffered moderate to light wounds. The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for the blast. As one local resident observed, "next week there will be more dead people. You can just change the names in your story." The Israelis immediately retaliated for the Jerusalem bombing, striking Palestinian targets in Nablus, killing one Palestinian 'policeman'.
