<All the jewish physicists from germany who were working on nuclear fission had already fled to the united states leave the german program in shambles.>
Which shows the stupidity of Hitler and his "Aryan Master Race" ideas and idiocy of the criminal evil of the idea of murdering all the Jews.
Unfortunately, the same process is continuing today with Moslem wackoes taking over where Hitler left off. Self-destructive murder/suicide malevolent anger and wild-eyed authoritarian desire seem to be the driving forces, not any rational attachment to life, love and happiness.
<The US developed "the bomb" in early 1945 independant of the war effort in europe. If for some reason the russians hadn't taken berline and eastern europe, the US would have had THE FUCKING BOMB. You think we would have stopped with a couple targets in japan? The bomb would have ended the war in europe in a few days, period.>
Well, it would have taken more than a few days to get more nukes ready, but certainly, the Nazis were doomed from many directions. That would definitely have been the coup de grace if the Russians and other allies [including the USA] hadn't done the job already.
My point was that the people of the USA are just a small proportion of the 6 billion of us. Many of those 6 billion like freedom, family, friends, ethics, creativity, private property and are working to create a wonderful world.
The impression given by many Americans is that they have some sort of monopoly on "We saved the world" in WWII, as though they were like the Lone Ranger saving the world from evil. I guess you are aware that some Americans, perhaps many, such as Henry Ford, had no special antipathy to the Nazis and even some fondness. While the USA was still hiding behind the oceans, my father had travelled around the world after volunteering, "Because Hitler had to be stopped", and had been a year fighting Hitler's gang in the middle east and into North Africa.
Many of we 6 billion are a bit nervous about the attitude of Americans to the rest of the world. There are 20 of us for every American. Americans claim to believe in democracy, but they go all limp-wristed at the idea of actually creating a federal system of nations at a United Nations level with a revamped UN constitution. That would be the best defence against terrorism. It would resolve Palestine/Israel, Afghanistan, Iraq/Kuwait and a lot more besides.
While there is murder and conflict and collateral damage and nationalistic, jingoistic, 'interests', there will be angry, disaffected, people created around the world who will want to do things like destroy things on a large scale and take as many others with them as they can. I think a new, improved, reconstituted UN can help mitigate the process. The USA is in a pre-eminent position to do something about it.
Which isn't to say everything would become all peace, light and harmony. With religious wackoes at each others' throats because they have got the one true brand of soap powder, with extra whiteness and eternal bliss guaranteed for the true believers who had damn well better believe it or else, there isn't going to be the peace they purport to love any time soon.
Evil like Gerry Adams, Osama, Saddam Hussein, Idi Amin, Robert Mugabe, Rwandan mass murder and Pol Pot will continue unabated without an improved UN constitution. It's an ill wind that blows nobody good. One good thing that came out of the mass murder at the WTC is that Americans are less inclined to give money to "freedom fighting" murderous IRA terrorists to blow up a bunch of people at Omagh etc. With luck, there were some IRA-supporting Irish Americans in the WTC [who didn't get out]! Now that would be poetic justice.
