I do not think that any of the holders are necessarily a better or worse trading vehicle either long or short. I believe that they are subject to the same uptick rules as any position in which you might want to initiate a short position.

The only advantage is that the overall movement of any holder would be potentially less dependent on any individual stock and thereby a more predictable vehicle than many of the individual stocks.
