Largest Purchase Ever by an EMC Corp. Executive
February 14, 2002

Director Windle Priem purchased 17,900 EMC shares from January 30-31 at prices between $16.40 and $16.50. Mr. Priem is also the Vice Chairman of Korn/Ferry Intl. (KFY), the world’s largest executive recruiting firm.

The addition occurred after EMC shares rebounded from September’s 3-year low at the $10-level. The stock had fallen to that low after trading as high as $62.00 in February 2001. The acquisition was the largest ever by an EMC executive. It was the first at the company in nearly eleven months, following months of selling by EMC insiders. EMC shares are lower since Mr. Priem’s recent purchase, and are currently trading at $14.38.

Hopkinton, Mass.-based EMC Corp. is the leader in data storage, developing memory systems used by banks, retailers, and government agencies, as well as network products that manage data across different computers.
