| I'm not an engineer, but the moisture content seems outrageous to me. I mentioned before about "breathing"....A house is not made to be air tight and needs to breathe in order to evaporate the normal amount of condensation that forms in it's closed in areas (attic, crawl space, in the walls, behind the brick and siding, etc.). If you talk to an old-time house painter he will tell you the importance of putting wedges under the wood siding before it is painted to let it "breathe", otherwise the paint will bubble in time. This may not be your problem, as I know absolutely NOTHING about building in your climate, but it's something else to think about. BTW, what type of finish do you have on the outside of your house? I assume it isn't brick, because they wouldn't have used Tyvec. |
