I am saying that it is not a current major threat in the US.

It is a threat in some places, and it is a potential threat in the US.

But my real point was not as much that it isn't a threat but rather that people who say it is not a current major threat in the US are not necessarily enemies of democracy. They might be right (in fact I would say they are), or they might be mistaken, but even if they are wrong they are not trying to end democracy or damage the US.

The only way I would say Communism is a current major threat to the US would be that Communist in other countries (China for example) have access to weapons that could harm us. But I believe Karen was talking about Communists in the US. Of course China has spies in the US and those spies could find out important info that we would want to keep secret, but they are not going to overthrow our government any time soon.
