I don't believe the new prospectus is out yet. Bear Stearns would seem to have some confidence that the numbers will be favourable so that the secondary would have a chance for sucess. Sucess in their consideration is making their clients happy and that comes with a significant appreciation in price preformance, they don't want to get into something that immediately falls due to something that is in their control, i.e. the knowledge that the company is producing outstanding results. They can not control the overall atmosphere, the market; they can control the quality of what they put out on the market. The fees they recieve for this particular secondary would never overcome the bad taste of a badly misjudged anaylisis of near term business results. It is only fair to inform you that I am a broker with A.G. Edwards. I am trying to get an alotment of 20,000 shares for my clients. Unfortunately I am forbidden by company policy from purchasing it for my own account or those of my family, otherwise I would take it all. As of now AGEdwards is not in the syndicate to receive shares, in fact the syndicate has not yet been formed. It is my hope that we can participate. However I am purchasing lots at the bid for my clients and am allowed to pass them on to my clients with a markup to the ask with no commission. At present it is the best I can do. I have been a holder of this company since August of 94 and both I and my clients have profited greatly from this investment, even with its sometimes extreme volatility. But we are holders for the long term and still hold the majority of our shares. We add periodically, and do some trading of shares and options, but we are investors and look for the long term. We are optimistic. One further note. I recieved an e-mail from Cabot Market Letter ( I know what havoc his recommendation is thought to have caused awhile back). He mentions MRVC as a company to buy although he has not put it into the Cabot portfolio. I mention this as a possible influence in trading on Monday. DRSpur
