The U.S. refused to grant the Philippines independence (we were an imperialist even back then). We waged a war on the Philippines, killing around 300,000 Filipinos. I don't think it is surprising that there was a backlash against our brutal conquest. boondocksnet.com boondocksnet.com Tom
