TTPCom and QUALCOMM Demonstrate BREW Applications on GPRS at 3GSM World Congress
Monday 18th February
TTP Communications plc, a leading developer of GSM/GPRS/3G technology today announced that it and QUALCOMM Incorporated, pioneer and world leader of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) digital wireless technology, have combined TTPCom's Wireless Game Engine (WGE) and QUALCOMM's Binary Runtime Environment for WirelessTM (BREWTM) platform in a GSM/GPRS handset. TTPCom and QUALCOMM will demonstrate WGE games and BREW-enabled applications on the TTPCom InTouchTM handset at the TTPCom Booth (A3) and the QUALCOMM Booth (B35) in Hall 1 at 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, February 19 - 21, 2002.

TTPCom and QUALCOMM's collaboration marks the European debut of the BREW
platform on a GSM/GPRS handset. This initiative means that European carriers
will be able to deploy BREW-based services. End users will be able to access
sophisticated games via WGE and a myriad of other applications via the BREW
platform and download them over the air on GSM/GPRS handsets. This opens up the
potential for a universal applications environment in which compelling content
will be available across both GSM and CDMA networks.

'This integrated solution gives TTPCom's customers access to the interesting
applications environment available through QUALCOMM's open BREW platform,' said
Tony Milbourn, CEO of TTPCom. 'End users will be able to customise their
handsets by downloading the best content, including our WGE games, produced by a
worldwide community of developers - and those developers will only need to write
an application once to capture sales in a worldwide market.'

'We're delighted with the success we and TTPCom have had porting the BREW
platform to TTPCom's GPRS handset,' said Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, group president,
QUALCOMM Wireless & Internet Group. 'The turnaround time on this handset
exceeded our expectations. This dramatically demonstrates that the benefits of
the BREW platform, such as rapid time to market for global handset
manufacturers, are independent of wireless technology.'

The integration by TTPCom and QUALCOMM of the BREW platform into a WGE-enabled
GPRS handset gives end users access to quality games via over the air downloads.
The BREW platform for wireless is giving consumers around the world the
ability to personalize their wireless handsets by downloading, over the air, the
applications they want and need, virtually anytime, anywhere. These
applications include personal productivity tools, m-services, position location,
mapping, sports, entertainment and gaming.
