Peter,

I believe that the U.S. government role should be protect and further the interests of its citizens. Not allow some scheming corporations to get out of paying equitably for the benefits of the market provided here. We'll simply have to agree to disagree. I can see pretty far down the road as far as what the corporate types want. And that is to shirk all responsibility for common infrastructure and social programs. This is intolerably small-minded, and no way to run a modern and decent society.
