NEW EDGE NETWORKS ACQUIRES @WORK ASSETS, CUSTOMERS FOR $1.5M

New Edge Networks, a broadband communications service provider
serving small and mid-sized cities across the US, has acquired
the business customers and certain broadband access assets of
AtWork, the commercial access division of bankrupt @Home. New
Edge Networks paid $1.5 million to acquire all of AtWork's 1,300
business customers, related premises equipment, and network
routers that are installed in 33 Internet hub locations in 26
cities around the country. The purchase represents about $18
million in new annual revenue for New Edge Networks. The company
plans to continue services without interruption.
