I agree. I also wonder if we may be surprised with Japan Phone's wCDMA network - slated to be lit mid-year...

Synchronization options - to a degree - are included in UMTS Release 99 specifications. Will JT - owned by VOD - maximize Standard synchronization? Will this be JT's advantage over DoCoMo... minimizing technical problems and the need for a high density of cell sites?

These are interesting times...
