Elmer RE...I've been watching this discussion with quite a bit of amusement. They've got Intel practically out of business and AMD's profits soaring. <<<<<<<<<<

I am glad you are getting a chuckle out of this. Lord knows we all need a laugh once in awhile. However, you are partially responsible, as it was your post 3 wks back which kicked the discussion off, when you said that Intel could produce all of the P4's demand in their current fabs at 130 nm, and the new 300 mm fabs would just add to the surplus. And I said to myself. Damm, Elmer just might be right again. So you owe us your guess. What will happen with all of Intel's overproduction? Will Intel come out with an even bigger die to soak up extra silicon? Close the old fabs, or a price war, and when.

You already have stated AMD is likely to drop to the $10 dollar area. However AMD's current resistance is at 13.47., and there is a lower one at $11.50 back in Dec. before we get to the 750 one in Sept. Are you figuring the price war will drop AMD down to $10, but AMD would recover from there, because Intel can't seriously hurt AMD like the 3q-01; because the recession is ending and XP is better positioned.. Do you think it will be a draw and stagnate at that area for a while?
