Sometimes it's just best to play dumb. The banks are going to make this move happen anyway. I don't know if you have ever been to a scrap metal merchant looking for a second hand part for your car, but I have... If your looking for a new hood, it's best to ask for a new trunk, and pretend to be pissed off when they try and overcharge you for it. Then give up and ask 'em how much they want for that good looking hood as a substitute, acting as disgruntled and PO'd as possible -g-
