I am a little confused about the alleged support.

I said that if you made it clear you were talking about public costs and if you toned down that final flourish about liberal bankrupcy, the piece would be credible. I stand by that. I never said I agreed with it. Personally, I think that both sides need to get their priorities straight and chill. I find general dismissal of liberals unhelpful.

EDIT: For example, you could make the point that the most important liberal objectives have already been achieved and that what's left in the queue is small potatoes that don't warrant the resources expended. It's more collegial and doesn't dismiss them as a bunch of frivolous, demolib pinheads.

Of course, if your main purpose is to tell them that they're a bunch of demolib pinheads, that won't work. Do you want to contribute to fixing the problem that concerns both you and me or do you want to get a cheer from the true believers while giving the pinheads the back of your hand?

Pardon the less than careful phrasing. I'm weary.
