Westi, thanks for posting that, I missed it this morning.

There are powerful implications in "Information Warfare" involving who is connected to what here in the domestic US media.

"It goes from the blackest of black programs to the whitest of white," a senior Pentagon official said.

My first reaction is high anxiety...

Recalling of course Fletcher Prouty:

"major media working for Big Brother"

A chronology of intel activities, including a para on Operation Mockingbird, domestic control of media
korpios.org

A more sensationalistic and dense but factual link (which misses the mark by blaming "soulless corporations" rather than individuals and fails to also talk about the intense Soviet competition for worldwide "hearts and minds") -- It's a battle with lots of losers, especially the truth.
The question: who wins?

Speaking of fascism, an interesting litany of fascism, by the same guy, btw

"I've always been opposed to the secret government." John F. Kennedy, 1958
"The extreme right ... object, "quite rightly, to politics intruding on the military - but they are anxious for the military to engage in politics."

He urged his supporters, "Let us not heed these counsels of fear and suspicion.... Let our patriotism be reflected in the creation of confidence rather than crusades of suspicion" (Entire speech published verbatim in Rusher, pp. 121-123). "

Well said.

To avoid anxiety and suspicion, however, it will be interesting to see how this doesn't blend into some official secret "Office of Domestic Influence".

My opinion, fwiw: the truth will indeed set us free...
