Excellent - much applies to the current discussion

To agree with:

- "Fascism is difficult to recognize because ... its nature is masked behind collective denial."

To disagree with:

The important aspects of the state of belief of fascism as promoted by Mussolini is the belief in an all-powerful state over the importance of the citizen, which leads to suppressing dissent, trivialization of human life, and justification of secrecy among the totalitarian mandarins in charge, among other things.

Especially control of information, the media and political debate.

I.e., some sort of secret but richly-funded "Office of Domestic Influence", say ...
