"The Pentagon and the CIA are barred by law from propaganda activities in the United States".
Which leads to question: who is permitted to do so?
During the run-up to the Gulf War, we were told that Kuwaiti babies were being tossed out of incubators in Kuwaiti hospitals, and the incubators were then stolen and shipped to Iraq. The person telling this story was a Quwaiti teenager who was under oath in front of a Congressional committee with full media coverage.
The only problem with the story was that it was an utter fabrication, a complete lie, a deceptive means to sway a gullible public.
The girl who was lying wasn't who she said she was, some "candy-striper" from the middle classes in Kuwait City. She was the daugther of the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the U.S. and hadn't even been in Kuwait at the time of the incident she reported seeing.
She was taught how to do a credible job in front of the sympathetic committee by the public relations firm, Hill & Knowlton.
Guess what, they're still at it. An executive from Hill & Knowlton was the trainer who helped Linda "Please, call me Imelda" Lay for her performance on the "Today" show. As has been amply reported, H & K was once again engaged in a complete snow job, a utter falsehood and a total fabrication. Apparently, lying is the only thing they do well.
All the best, Ray
