To ALL: PII should be a big seller 2nd Half...

techweb.com

For what its worth, I called up Dell and Gateway inquiring about
PII systems. Both said PII systems were selling well, and both
had systems in stock. I take this as a good sign, since this was
not the case when the PII was introduced a month or so ago.
This could be a sign that PII is ramping up quickly. Also,
when compared with the Pentium 233 MMX, the PII systems seem like
the better deal. Gateway was selling a FULLY-loaded 266 PII
(64M RAM, 6.4G DASD, 17" monitor, 24x cd-rom, graphics, NT, etc) for about $3250, whereas a 233 Pentium MMX with the same specs would run about $3000. Both seem to be pushing the PII systems.

Also, with the price of periphereals low and going lower (hard drive, memory, etc.) this is good news for PII systems.
