Which was precisely my point, Gustave, re: Europe not getting it. This Administration (rightly) interprets 9/11 as a fundamental challenge to US vital interests. Europe hasn't caught on that the course of human events has shifted in a most dramatic fashion. It is not business as usual. This is worse than the phony war, the Panzers are at the gates of Paris and they are denying there is a war at all!
