patron, Actually, the scam known as co-insurance and deductibles was supposed to reduce health care costs. It didn't work. There is an insurance co. that pays much less than stated rates and still offers great care. It is called Medicare. I don't think socializing is the only answer, but it is the one the medical community and our Keystone Kops medical insurance system is pushing us toward. If there is some way to provide quality healthcare without breaking either workers or cos., or medical providers, I think somebody ought to come up with it. I don't know how you prevent hypochondriacs from clogging the system. Most doctors will tell you that 20% of the patients take up about 80% of the appointments.

Of course, we can always try Republican health care: If you're poor, you die. <g>
