Biotech stocks are very much out of favor these days and to a large degree I think this is why Geron's stock has acted so poorly. However, when biotechs are in favor, many companies with lots of patents and very exciting technology (such as Geron) can deliver good stock price gains, even when no earnings are expected for quite a few years. When will biotech stocks be back in favor? I wish I knew, but my sense is it'll be sooner than later.
