Andrew, thanks for the info. Modem disconnects on my system seem to happen rarely - if I don't count incomplete dial-ups. You know, the kind were you get an error message to check your cable, power, setup etc. Anything but the connection on the providers end. I also have modem failure immediately after boot-up sometimes. So I do something else for a minute and then it works. And this is a new system. Just heard on radio that NASA had problems communicating with a landing module on Mars. They fixed it by - you guessed it - turning a modem off and on repeatedly! Regards GM
