Well, it's not so much economics as psychology, IMO. If you think you have the winning lottery ticket, but you're off by one number, were you ever rich?

You might behave like you are rich - quit your job, punch your boss in the nose, buy yourself a fancy new car, but so what? You were wrong and that's all there is to it.
