SI doesn't have to die for iHub to make it, and neither does RB, MF, or Yahoo. It's a big pie. I'm sure many people use multiple sites. Obviously, I do. When I post here, it's usually as "former SI Bob", not "current IH Bob".

And deep down, I also really hope SI never goes away. Not just the history it represents, but what it represents as a standard for quality discussions.

I saw where you mentioned elsewhere about keeping out the RB-style spammers. S'easy. New accounts can only post 3 times per day until Matt approves the account, at which point they can post 10 times per day.

Someone looking to spam a site typically goes to it, registers, and spams away. If they have to wait a day before they can do their spamming, and then only 10 at a time (which'll be quickly caught), they're generally not coming back.
