I've still got my position. I think in addition to the telecom slowdown this may be weighing down AXTI (and a lot of the GaAs folks): us.st.com Time will tell if STM's Si will really "match the performance of GaAs". As in most things the advancement of GaAs devices isn't static. Also GaAs and InP are intrinsically superior to Si in some aspects. However, STM is probably right that the phone folks would like to stay with Si if it is possible... JF
