From media player go to Tools->Options and on the Player tab the Internet settings section has a checkbox which says "Allow Internet sites to uniquely identify your Player". Uncheck this box (it is checked by default). On the Media Library tab the "Access rights of Internet sites" should also have "No access" selected.

As a general rule, always review the preferences/options section of any program you install. Very often what the manufacturer believes to be reasonable default settings are different from what you might prefer.
