"Who protected the tax payers?"

You wouldn't happen to be referring to those who saw their utility bill go up five times in March of 2000, would you?

The gaming has been exposed. Enron leaders now have to claim the fifth amendment before Democratic chairmen of Senate subcomittees. Generators now have to cross their T's and dot their I's or face subpoenas.

Democrats will take control and they will enact historic levels of oversight destroying a decade-long fight to deregulate.

Texas is no longer considered a safe investment.

Clearly, Lay and tens of thousands of energy employees trashed your investment and now you get to shop at KMart.

Congratulations.

"Look - in deregulation Ca wanted all the good with none of the risk! " Risk of what? Fraud?

That is where you are wrong. I made the choice to pay 25% more to buy energy from a generator who relied on wind and renewable power. That generator had to pull out of California because conglomerate-owned utilities would not pay them for the energy they sold me.
