Of course. They're bad guys. Regardless of how they got there, who supported them, etc.

The question now is how to avoid growing more of these.
We've been doing things that help grow these weeds, then have to cut them back. Time to change policies.

"did you support the removal of the Taliban as the governing force in Afghanistan, for being a state that harbored the terrorist organization "

Sure, I'll even shoot first and ask questions later, in the mode beloved of punishment-freaks everywhere, until things quiet down and we can bring our heads up and look around.

But then it comes time to ask questions.
A lot of questions.
That's where we are now.
The administration would prefer the "heads down keep shooting lookout behind you they're after us" mode to asking questions.

I don't believe it.

For one thing, the CIA published the name of the poor sot killed over there, which is against all their policies, and which they never do, for the obvious reason it PUTS AT RISK THE FAMILY OF THE OPERATIVE. Unless, of course, the intel folks actually know who, what and where the cells are in this country, and the risk is manageable.

That's about the only conclusion one can come to.
We're being lied to on a quite regular basis, and taken for patsies. Again.
