Arabs had no problem with Jews in Jerusalem until the Zionists came along.

Yet before 1967, Jordan allowed no Jews to enter east Jerusalem - not no Zionists, no Jews of any kind. Prior to Jordanian rule, it had been ruled by the Turks. Arabs had once ruled Jerusalem back over a thousand years ago.
