The "other" legends regarding that "effect" are abstinence from smoking and eating meat. I think it's going to take a while, and a lot of testing to isolate the true causes of phenomenon, given the number of variables. Pineapple Juice + vegetarian diet, non-smoking? Pineapple Juice + omnivorous diet, smoking? Pineapple Juice + rhubarb & chiles + occasional hamburger diet whilst non-smoking? Many parameters involved. Thorough, exhaustive testing suggested. Pineapples are a very involved entity.
