Brooke(lise)........I agree with your confusion when it comes to understanding the REASONS for BNS, CCI, etc... Those who have known me longer here know that I am a BLATANT plagerist, and see my mission as to take the fodder of others and play around with it in a way that may further the action for the good of the order. I haven't a clue as to why Bollingers do what they do, or why TSF MA's tend to follow (ride) them in the right combination, or why RSI, or Stochastics, or whatever do what they do. I trust the others who have come before and try to add value. Getting past knowing "why" was the biggest hurdle I had to cross, so now, if something looks like it works and tests out, I throw it out to the group for evaluation and their own testing. A lot of times I have done that, nobody has picked up the ball and that's great, because it means that there probably was nothing there. When I present at TAINJ, I will not explain "why", only "what" has worked time and again for me. I only posted my BNS parameters to create just what has happened.....dialogue, testing, acceptance and/or rejection. The learning the "why" will probably come for me when I finally retire and do TA (and FINALLY a web site) full time. I'm sorry to perplex you, but my experience tells me that all others who are working on BNS will improve it just that much more because one more mind got into the fray and clouded the issue.
In retrospect, this tome sounds a little testy, and it really shouldn't. I just wanted to explain why I tend to post too soon rather than too late.
