Zeev, thanks for the thoughtful post. It certainly is a lot like last Feb and March in that we think we know where the slide will stop, but the market keeps telling us otherwise.

As for da_cheif's prognostications, I just read what he posts on his SI thread, so I don't know what he thinks right now.

I believe he has said here that the Sept. lows were a re-test of the Fall '98 lows, so I think in his mind (but probably not his trading account) he's bullish to the max. I think he's looking for one more peak on the Dow and SPX before a correction, but I'm not sure. Rich would know that better.

Da_cheif has a bullish attitude, but he trades the trend like the rest of us, so I don't think we can get a handle on what he's doing by reading his posts or boasts.

If we do re-test the Sept lows on the COMP, I've got to believe we'll do it in concert with the other indices. No one index will go it alone.

As for people asking "Is this it?" I think if we just say we need 3-straight days of a -1000 tic on the COMP that will answer that question.

As for me, I'm no longer playing calls after today's episode. I'm like LVLT fiber - mostly dark <G>.
