What does it compare to?

Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to this question. Yuengling is a regional brewer. You find it in PA, NJ and more recently MD and NY. It been around since 1829 making it "America’s Oldest Brewery" (http://www.yuengling.com/). It’s priced similar to Budweiser, Miller, Coors and the other national brands, or should I say other National "Bland"s.

What makes your question about how it compares hard, is that I don’t remember ever turning down a beer of any strip. Some might say, I don’t discriminate when it comes to beer. A lot of people like the "Black & Tan", I prefer the Porter. Many, even so called beer drinkers, don’t appreciate full flavored beers. If your favorite beer is Coor’s Lite you may not appreciate it. I like Porters and Stouts. My favorites are:

Sierra Nevada Stout
Sierra Nevada Porter
Anchorsteam Porter
Wild Goose Oatmeal Stout (Frederick Brewing Co. MD)
Bass Ale
Guinness Stout****

Yuengling Porter is less expensive than the beers listed above. It’s not the best but it’s good because it’s reasonably priced.

Tom

**** Guinness Stout in Ireland is the absolute best beer in this list but I’m not in Ireland now. What you get here is good but it’s not close to the real thing, the "Mother’s Milk" of beer.
