The officer found guilty of giving the order was given a fine of 10¢. The longest sentence given out in that case was to Gabriel Dahan, who was convicted of killing 43 Arabs in one hour. Meir Pail is quoted as saying that "only a pathological hatred of Arabs" made the massacre possible. Dahan served just over one year, and then was promptly given a position as an officer for Arab affairs at Ramle. Tom
