I thought that defending and advancing one's family at all costs was part of family values...
No "ggg's" here, Karen -- Is this meant seriously?
Anyway, on this topic, Court TV was running excerpts from an interesting case yesterday. In Vero Beach, Florida, a young man has been convicted of strangling and burning a girlfriend. The sentencing phase was shown about whether the jury would give him the death penalty (I didn't see the outcome). The relevant aspect is that there was little evidence against him, except that he confessed the crime to his mother. His mother is a police detective. In essence, she turned him in. She was shown giving testimony, in a heart-wrenching manner (very intelligent, articulate, heartbroken, and soul-searching as to her own culpability for her son's crime).
Now, THAT is what I call being a responsible parent of the highest morality.
