">>Bush's speech yesterday to Chinese students was a wonderful illustration of this struggle."<<

Below from Friday's WSJ front page and a much better example of Bush's "struggle"....embarrasing....

Daschle v Bush in 04 and Daschle wins in a walk! Write it down so you don't forget it.

WASHINGTON WIRE

Translating Bush poses challenge on president's Asia trip.

Japanese reporters are puzzled when he chastises someone as a "Fournier" -- Bush-speak for reporters who try to ask two questions at a time, named for an oft-guilty U.S. correspondent. But on trip's eve, Asian reporters snapped back when Bush bristled at being pressed about North Korea: "South Koreans are waiting for your answers," one said.

Bush's calling the war on terrorism "a crusade," months after he had first used the term, renews U.S. officials' concern about offending Islamic allies; his confusing "devaluation" with "deflation" after a talk with Japan's Koizumi rattles the yen. Even aides wonder at his repeated pronunciation of the Korean peninsula as "pen-ich-ula."
