Re Niles, he is some piece of work. DELL was one of the greatest growth stocks ever and he was the perennial bear on it back in the mid-90's. He has to get hot at some point again though, it has been his legacy to be wrong and completely out of sync for about 2 years and then look good for a few years. The fact is, he is a bright guy but his ego is just ridiculous as he tries to shrug off all his shitty calls as no big deal but trumpet any data point he gets right with how much smarter he is than everyone else. It is virtually impossible to constantly be in sync with this kind of a market but Dan has been unbelievably bad lately. Not just IBM, he had a horrendous trading call on AMD not long ago among others. The Lehman salesforce is pissed cause Dan's contract is guaranteed, he is not a client-friendly guy and there isn't much money to go around after he and Tim Luke eat a good chunk of the bonus pie...
