It occurred to me that even IF Berg is inclined to put more money into the company, he could simply wait a few months until they default on an interest payment, force them into bankruptcy, and then he owns the ENTIRE company.

Would he consider such a step? Why not? The amendments to his previous loan agreements giving him more protections in the event of defualt, and the "going concern" warning in the last 10-Q suggest he may be considering such a step.
