The idea of consumer choice threatens Saudi Arabia and other despotic targets even without the energy bill...

A simple announcement by any gas retailer would drive them nuts, regardless of actual numbers.

Whichever retailer it was, there would be publicity and lines around the block.

The point of the energy plan is 25% increased consumption, looked upon eagerly by domestic and foreign producers. With consumers in the mix, political consideration of despotic terrorism support becomes inevitable. Currently, it isn't a consideration.

"One or the other, you don't get both. "

I think you mean "increase production in order to reduce Saudi purchases". True, but not exclusively. As posted previously, consumers when motivated by an understood clear connection between terrorism and pushing a button on a gas pump, will push the "non-M.E." button. They will also, I believe, conserve, if needed.
