According to Stratfor, 97% of violent crimes in Colombia go unpunished. There's no deterrent. That's lawlessness, pure and simple. Revolution has to have a goal of making the place better for people, not tearing it down.

Revolutionary acts: Teaching people of all ages to read. Setting up schools. Setting up libraries. Building roads. Building hospitals. Building electrical power plants. Building sewage treatment plants. Bringing in telephones, maybe even internet. Setting up child-care co-ops. Setting up credit unions and savings and loans. Being a cop or a prosecutor or a judge - brave acts in Colombia.

My step-grandmother was in Vista in Honduras for years after her husband died, teaching young, inexperienced mothers how to take care of their babies. That's a revolutionary act.
