His response to the students was excellent, and demonstrate what a total grasp he has of the geopolitical situation in regard to China's relationship with the U.S.

Thanks for posting the text.

I had a different reaction to the question and answer section.
1) The Chinese speak better English than Bush does.
2) Bush has a lot of trouble answering even the first question....what's the difference between peacefull settlement and peacefull reunification and why doesn't he use peacefull reunification.
3) When he says the US honors treaties, does he think the Chinese are unaware of the ABM treaty?
4) On violent crime and education....has he already forgotten the piss-poor education record of the Dallas-Ft. Worth schools? i.e., a high-school graduation rate half the US average!
5) This one he might have gotten by the Chinese: And I know many have, and more ought to come. It's important for the rhetoric, when we describe what we've seen to be accurate and real. sic, the Chinese might not know how we use the word rhetoric.

All in all, the President's responses to the questions were rhetoric.
