IDTI and maybe the entire semi sector is heading into a narrowing range. While the grass roots economy is recovering there is little hope that a robust recovery will occur in many of the darling tech sectors, particularly the communications related sectors. While this should not come as a surprise to investors I think the reality of a slow, lackluster recovery in which volumes increase modestly but pricing remains under pressure for a protracted period will continue to dampen the enthusiasm of the ardent tech stock investor crowd. It took years for the market and spending habits of corporations to get so over ridiculously extended and the problems will take longer than expected to rebound imo.

We are due for some sectors to see a short-term positive inventory adjustment pick up in business but underlying growth will not return to near bubblemania levels anytime in the next few years.

What this means for investors in tech stocks is probably a continuation of the short spurts up followed by moves down, sometimes within a single day or a few days within a general trading range as a battle plays out between pavlovian dogs trained to salivate at the prospects for huge rewards in tech stocks seen in the euphoria prior to the downturn and the huge over-hang that will precipitate selling as stocks try to rally through resistance levels .
