Interesting, and thank you I added some figures and will be taking a closer look...

At first glance it almost looks like an arbitrary set of companies selected for the SOX, and the % component selected by random number too. Numbers taken straight off Yahoo. I going to check and update them next.

symbol...% comp...price...EPS...PE....MKT CAP (B)
KLAC......10.94%..56.43...2.08..27.13...10.44

I'm seeing "mildest recession ever" printed all over the place. Heinz has the semi manufacturing as expanded by 2500% over the last 10 yrs. Does not feel like a normal semiconductor low to me. No massive shutdowns and multi $billion write offs yet. (see prev msg of UK "grand opening" of Newcastle semi fab in 1997, shut down in 1998. That film intro is unusual in that effect)

All in all, I see the semi sector extremely dependent on good news elsewhere fueling a semidriven recovery.

Can all the debt in the economy be hidden and ignored? I doubt it.
